At Havana Hostel & Dance School we offer many differ accommodation options. We have shared dorms, beautiful private rooms (with AC and a view to the city or more affordable ones with a fan and shared bathrooms). We also offer private Studio-Apartment
Which type of salsa should I learn, Caleña or Línea?
If you want to learn something different and unique proper from Cali, then you should definitely learn Caleña Style Salsa, since it is a type of salsa that you will rarely see outside of Colombia.
If you want to learn something that allows you to communicate and understand how other people dance salsa across the world , línea (On1 & On2 or "International Style") is more popular and therefore you will have more chances to connect with other salsa dancers. Keep in mind that there are other salsa styles around the world.
What type of dancing style can I learn at Havana Dance School?
At Havana Dance you will be able to learn Caleña, línea (On1 or On2), or Cuban Salsa.
How long does it take to learn to dance Salsa or Bachata?
There is no specific amount of time it takes to learn how to dance. It will depend on multiple factors such as:
-Previous experience: If you have already danced salsa or bachata or another style you will learn new dancing styles quick
-Hours of practice: Learning to dance, is like learning how to speak a new language. Lots of practice will help you understand and sound more natural. Practicing dance for hours will also allow you to move in a more fluent way and allow you to connect more easily with other people.
Are there places to practice?
You can practice dancing either at the hostel or out at one of the city's many bars and clubs. When going out we can help guide you to the best social dancing spots in the city.
At the hostel we have many areas where you can practice your new skills. We have outdoor the dancing area and two dance rooms.
